About Human Nutrition Department
The Human Nutrition Department aims to build innovative nutritionist through the promotion of critical thinking and discovery to alleviate the trained manpower shortage in the field of nutrition and Dietetics in Ethiopia, who can assess, plan, implement and intervene on nutritional problems and to equip them with the core body of knowledge on nutritional science and basic research methodology. The program was initially started a post-graduate program in Applied Human nutrition in 2002 by 4 academic staff members including one professor by graduating 9 students whereas MPH in Human nutrition started in 2015. By the 2022, BSc in Dietetics and PhD in Public health in Human Nutrition are opened.
